In your own words tell Governor Kasich and your state lawmakers:
Medicaid expansion will be good for Ohio's economy. Millions of federal dollars will flow into the state to support our healthcare industry and those businesess small and large that support the industry.
Medicaid expansion will be good for many Ohioans. More than 600,000 Ohioans will get needed access to quality healthcare through expansion.
Ohioans will pay whether the state expands Medicaid or not. Without expansion many poor Ohioans will remain uninsured and without proper access to primary and preventative care. Without the proper care many uninsured will continue to seek care in the most expensive places, like hopsital emergency departments. Taxpayers and businesses and individuals with private market health insurance will continue to pay for costly uncompensated care.
Medicaid expansion is a logical next step as the State of Ohio works to transform healthcare. With leadership from the Governor and state legislature, significant changes that both save taxpayer dollars and provide better care to Medicaid recipients are being adopted. Expansion allows those efforts to reach additional Ohioans, many of whom would remain uninsured without expansion.
